To achieve this, OXFAM in Tanzania is seeks to recruit suitable qualified Candidate to fill in the following position Programme Support Officer

Job Purpose
The Programme Support Officer will provide administrative support to the Programmes Team and will report to the Programme Manager. These entry-level development roles will ensure that the day-to-day programme administration is managed. These team members will manage the calendars of the teams, provide logistical (e.g. events management) support, ensure that all communications from the team are streamlined, prepare and manage correspondence on behalf of the team and ensure that basic programme information is collected and kept up to date.

Roles and Responsibilities
-Assist in the strategic program development by contributing to the successful implementation of program objectives. This includes development of systems for planning, management and review of operations.
-Provides administrative support across the Programme Team.
-Assist with event management and other public outreach efforts.
-Coordinate team’s social media and external communications efforts.
-Support the Programme Coordinators in all activities with national implementing partners
-Liaise with the Business Unit to undertake logistical preparations for visitors-related activities, acting as point of contact on deployment and transport matters.
-Prepare activity reports, minutes of meetings, workshops and meetings or in the activities.
-Work with the Programme Manager to ensure the effective use of the Programme Unit’s filing and records management system.
-Provide administrative and logistic support to the Unit in relation to meetings, preparation and distribution of documentation and materials pertaining to meetings, visitors and staff travel.
-Administration and management of day to day operations.
-Programme Support Officer may be required to assume other duties and responsibilities to support Programme Coordinators across the Programme.

Skills and Competencies
To be successful in this role, we need someone with;
Essential
-Relevant work experience in the management of financial resources preferably in an NGO or INGO
-Experience in working with development projects
-Knowledge in key aspects of project management: planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation
-Ability to be an effective team player and to adjust own way of working and performance to enable improvement in the work performance of the team
-Strong organisational and personal management skills, with ability to prioritise work issues to meet deadlines with minimal supervision and adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow-through
-Strong interpersonal skills, sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to work in a wide variety of cultural context
-Have practical experience in supporting governance, gender and women rights related projects with understanding of the Tanzania context
-Exceptional personal communication skills, in written and verbal English and Kiswahili, with influencing and persuasive skills. Able to use different approaches to achieve followership.
-Strong attention to detail
-Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. High level of acquaintance comfort with internet-based research and electronic communications, new social networks.
-Commitment to Oxfam’s overall values, aims and policies with especial emphasis on Gender policies and promotion of equal opportunities.
-Flexibility in terms of travel and working hours is a requirement of this role.

Desirable
Influencing experience and ability to work with networks and associations
Some experience in working with media, including use of digital media and Google apps (especially Google calendar and maps).
Knowledge and Understanding of Tanzanian development strategies, policies and priorities.
